Product Specification
Special Needle Roller Bearings
  • Needle roller thrust bearings are for heavy axial loads. They require a minimum axial space and are arranged rather stiffly. They can accommodate axial loads acting in one direction i.e. they are single direction bearings. It can take as less space as a thrust washer can. The roller, cage and the raceways can all be separated and be combined with washers of various designs.
  • Needle roller and cage thrust assemblies consist of a cage that guide and retain a large number of needle rollers. The cylindrical surface of the rollers is slightly relieved towards the ends to ensure an even load distribution and prevent the damage to the edges.
Bearing washers
  • Raceway washers are made of hardened carbon chromium (rolling bearing) steel. The raceways are ground and the bore and outside diameter are turned may be used both as shaft and as housing washers for bearing arrangements.
  • Thrust washers are made of spring steel and are hardened and polished. They enable bearing arrangements where, the adjacent machine components are not suitable as raceways, but do have adequate stiffness etc. The thrust washers can be used both as shaft and as housing washers.
  • Shaft and housing washers are used for high-speed applications when accurate centering of the bearing washers is required.
Dimensions: The dimensions of the needle roller and cage thrust assemblies correspond to ISO.

Misalignment: They cannot tolerate any misalignment of the shaft with respect to the housing or any angular misalignment.

Cage: Needle roller and cage thrust assemblies incorporate a form-stable cage of steel or sheet steel as standard, with the exception of those assemblies identified by the designation suffix TN which have an injection molded cage of glass fiber reinforced polyamide 6, 6.

Drawn-cup, full: Complement needle bearings (NA / NK / NKI / NKIS Type) consist of a deep-drawn cup with a full complement of needles. In some needle bearings the needles are retained by the cup lips, in others by the grease. Spherical-ended rollers are used in the grease-retained needle bearings.

Drawn-cup, caged needle bearings are identical to full-complement bearings, except that a cage is used. They provide higher speeds and reduced load bearing capacity. They have better tolerance for misalignment.

Heavy-duty needle bearings have a heavy outer ring made from materials, load capacity is higher. There is a problem of slippage between the roller and raceway surfaces, which occurs because the rollers are cylindrical rather than tapered.
